Who we are
Weavr is a service that helps people find the right people to meet inside a trusted community — an event or an organization's professional network — and arranges those meetings. Weavr is a product of The Social Fabric ("we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us or connect to Weavr:
- Account information from LinkedIn sign-in: your name, email address, profile photo and LinkedIn profile.
- Profile details you add or confirm, such as your role, company, location, languages and a short description of what you do.
- What you tell the Weavr assistant in the chat, including the searches you run and the people you ask to meet. The assistant keeps short notes of what you tell it about yourself, your work and what you are looking for, so that later conversations in the same community can build on them. You can ask it what it remembers and tell it to forget something.
- A LinkedIn data archive, if you choose to upload one, including your professional history and your list of connections.
- Your Google Calendar connection, if you choose to connect it: the email address of the Google account and whether you are free or busy at given times. We do not see the titles, descriptions, attendees or any other contents of your events. You also set your working hours.
- Meeting and introduction requests you make, and the replies you send to the letters Weavr writes on a requester's behalf.
Information from other sources
- The organizer of an event or network you join may add you with your name, email address, role, company and LinkedIn profile.
- We supplement professional profiles with publicly available professional information (for example past roles, skills and education) from professional data providers, so that people can be matched on what they actually know and do.
- When a member of a community shares their LinkedIn connections for introductions, we process basic professional information about those connections (name, role, company, LinkedIn profile) to suggest introductions within that community.
Information collected automatically
Like most web services, we keep technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) and use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in and to protect the service. We do not use advertising cookies.
How we use information
- To run Weavr: create your account, understand what you are looking for, find relevant people inside the same community, and explain why each person is a match.
- To arrange meetings: contact the person you asked to meet on your behalf, find a time that suits both of you, and send the meeting invitation with a Google Meet link for the call.
- To pass on introduction requests to the member who can make them.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
- To measure and improve the quality of matches and of the assistant's replies.
- To send you service messages, such as sign-in links, meeting updates and account notices.
Artificial intelligence
Weavr uses AI models to understand requests, match people, write explanations and draft messages. The text needed for each task is sent to AI service providers who process it on our behalf under their business terms. Letters Weavr writes on someone's behalf say that they come from Weavr.
Who can see your information
- Members of the same community can see your profile when you are recommended to them, together with an explanation of why you are a match. Your information is never shown to members of other communities through matching.
- Organizers of a community can see its participants, their matches and meeting requests inside that community.
- When you request a meeting, the person you asked receives your name, role, community and the reason for the request. Contact details are shared only once a meeting is agreed.
- When you ask for an introduction, the member who can introduce you receives your name, role, contact details and what you are looking for.
Service providers and other disclosures
We share information with providers that help us run Weavr — hosting and databases, cloud computing, email delivery, AI processing, authentication (LinkedIn and Google) and professional data providers — only as needed to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising.
Google user data
Connecting Google Calendar is optional. Weavr asks for it only so that the meetings you request can be arranged at a time when both people are free. This section describes exactly what Weavr does with data it receives from Google.
- Permissions we request: the Google Calendar free/busy scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.freebusy), plus your Google account's email address (openid, email) to show which account is connected.
- What we access: only the times when your primary calendar is busy. The free/busy scope does not give Weavr access to event titles, descriptions, locations, attendees, attachments or any other event contents, and Weavr does not request that access.
- Read-only: Weavr never creates, changes or deletes events in your calendar, and does not request any permission that would allow it to. Meeting invitations are sent from Weavr's own calendar to both people.
- How we use it: to work out when you are free within the working hours you set, so that Weavr can suggest meeting times for meetings you have asked for or agreed to. We do not use Google user data for any other purpose.
- Sharing: the person you are meeting may see times Weavr proposes, but never your events or when you are busy. We do not sell Google user data, do not use or transfer it for advertising, and do not share it with anyone except the service providers that host Weavr, as needed to run this feature.
- AI: we do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.
- Storage: we store the connected account's email address and the OAuth access and refresh tokens, protected by encryption in transit and access controls. Free/busy results are requested when a meeting time is needed and are not kept as a copy of your calendar.
- Retention and deletion: the tokens are kept while your calendar is connected. You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time on your profile page; this deletes the stored tokens and revokes Weavr's access with Google. You can also remove Weavr's access in your Google Account settings at any time.
Limited Use disclosure
Weavr's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide Weavr, and then delete or anonymize it, unless we must keep it longer to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements. You can delete your account at any time.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. You can edit your profile, turn off introductions for a community, disconnect Google Calendar and delete your account in Weavr. If you are not a Weavr user and believe we hold information about you — for example as someone's LinkedIn connection — you can ask us to delete it. To make any request, write to us at the address below. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
Weavr and its providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Weavr is a professional service and is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in Weavr or by email.
